Perlite

Perlite ore is a silica rock of volcanic origin that contains fine water droplets which is expanded at high temperature, then crushed and graded to a powder or fine granules which form the basis of our Clarcel FLO product ranges.

Due to the high permeability of perlite, it helps to obtain the desired cake density in mixtures made with diatomaceous earth.

Applications

• As a filter aid in oil, simple sugar syrups, alcoholic beverages (wine), non-alcoholic beverages (fruit juice) and food products such as molasses,
• As a filtering agent in pharmaceutical and chemical products,
• In addition, perlite is used for filling purposes in insulation, textile and various chemical applications.
